Cinco esquisitinhos no interior dos Estados Unidos fazendo rock melódico pronto para conquistar o coração das garotas. É esse o som da banda The Maine, que se apresenta em Curitiba este sábado (3) e São Paulo no domingo (4). Pouco antes de embarcar para o país, o baterista do grupo Pat Kirch falou ao iG Jovem por telefone: “Estamos muito animados! Queremos tocar no Brasil faz dois anos, então estamos ansiosos”, disse.
Os shows no país marcam a estreia do terceiro álbum de estúdio da banda, que será lançado oficialmente no dia 6. “Pioneer” foi gravado de forma independente, a primeira investida do The Maine fora da Warner Music. “Gravamos metade do disco sem a gravadora saber, bancamos tudo”, explica Pat. Segundo o músico, a decisão de lançar um trabalho independente veio com a vontade de fazer algo sem interferência de nenhum produtor.
“Mostramos o resultado para o selo mas eles não quiseram lançar. Então em vez de desistir e gravar tudo do zero, vamos lançar independente”, disse o baterista. O álbum mostra a banda um pouco mais madura, porém eles negam o rótulo. “Ainda sinto como se tivéssemos 18 anos, mas com mais experiência”, afirma Pat.
Ele adianta também que os fãs podem esperar de “Pioneer” um mix de músicas felizes, outras mais emotivas e algumas raivosas. “A maior diferença foi a liberdade, a gente pode fazer tudo que sempre quis.”
Os shows no Brasil, no entanto, terão também outros sucessos da banda como “I Must Be Dreaming”, “Into Your Arms” e “Inside of You”.
Pat explica que pela primeira vez na história do The Maine, a banda vai fazer um set linear, na ordem em que as músicas foram lançadas. “Vai ser diferente de tudo que já fizemos. Vamos tocar faixas do nosso primeiro EP até as do último disco.”
Apesar de não conhecer muito sobre o Brasil, os rapazes do The Maine estão ansiosos em passear bastante e finalmente conhecer seus admiradores. “Temos muitos fãs aí, eles sempre mandam mensagens pela internert e por isso lutamos para fazer a turnê acontecer”, diz Pat.
Para as garotas interessadas em John, Jared, Garrett , Pat e Kennedy, uma boa notícia: estão (quase) todos solteiros. “Menos o Jared, que já foi fisgado”, brinca o baterista. “Ouvi coisas legais sobre as brasileiras, mas sou meio tímido, vamos ver o que vai acontecer”, finalizou.
